The Brief

Bristol, known as the creative capital of the Southwest, is one of the UK’s leading exporters of innovative design. To celebrate this reputation and in recognition of World Usability Day, the Collaborate Conference platform shares industry insights and showcases the region’s creative excellence.

The 2016 conference, organised by Nomensa, featured inspiring talks and interactive workshops by a diverse panel of local and international user experience and design experts. The event aimed to spark ideas, stimulate creative minds, and reinforce Bristol’s status as a design innovation hub.

Held at the Bristol Aquarium, the 2016 conference required a suite of collateral to enhance the event experience. My role was to design and produce materials supporting the event and reflecting its professional and creative spirit. The deliverables included:

  • Lanyards
  • Programmes
  • Welcome slides
  • Lectern covers
  • Roll-up banners

The Solution

The collateral design adhered to the established event branding and maintained consistency across all touchpoints. While the scope did not include modifying the event logo or colour palette, I paid careful attention to ensure a cohesive and visually engaging aesthetic.

Lanyards

Custom-designed lanyards greeted attendees at the registration desk, providing a professional and memorable first impression.

Programme

The conference programme was designed for clarity and usability, offering attendees a comprehensive guide to the event. It balanced the functional layout with engaging visuals, ensuring the content was accessible and appealing.

Roll-Up Banners

Strategically placed roll-up banners reinforced the event branding and enhanced the stage presence. Positioned alongside the lectern, they provided a professional backdrop for speakers and served as key navigational elements for attendees.

The Result

The 2016 Collaborate Conference was a resounding success, thanks to the over 300 attendees who experienced the thoughtfully designed event collateral. Your presence and engagement contributed to the professional atmosphere and immersive experience, reflecting Nomensa’s high standards and Bristol’s creative spirit.
